Attention! Things Need to be Done before Entering China!

Reese HACOS瀚客 2020-03-07

As the number of new confirmed cases continues to rise internationally, the risk of infections from abroad is also rising, making curbing the spread of the epidemic through ports a top priority. Let's see what you need to do when entering China.

HEALTH DECLARATION

Customs across the country have kept a close eye on the epidemic at home and abroad, conducted risk assessments with gathered information and rolled out countermeasures at ports all over the country.

The General Administration of Customs (GAC) has required all entry and exit personnel to report health conditions to the customs for symptom checks. Meanwhile, body temperature monitoring and medical inspections were strictly carried out.

  • Select 'Health Declaration' and fill out the following form.

  • Then you will get a bar code. You can view your health declaration records on the mini-program and show the code to customs on Entry/exit.

14-DAY QUARANTINES

In addition, provinces and cities in China have introduced multiple measures for those arriving from overseas.

Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Qingdao, Yantai and Weihai in Shandong province, and Xiamen in Fujian province, have introduced 14-day quarantines and other measures for those arriving from overseas, particularly from epidemic-stricken regions.

In Guangdong, all people who had visited countries and regions hit by the novel coronavirus outbreak, such as South Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan, were required to be quarantined for 14 days in designated hotels or at home upon their arrival starting from Monday.

Major airlines will inform foreign passengers on board about measures and regulations Guangdong has introduced to help prevent and control the epidemic.

As for the passengers who are transferring to other provinces, they will have to follow the measures taken by their destinations.

Measures taken apply to all arrivals including Chinese citizens and expats. Many regions have launched bilingual hotlines to handle related inquiries, you can check our previous article to learn more info.
