What impressed us most in this project is how to integrate the minimalist lines into the narrow streets in the old town.

The renewal of the factories and streets in the downtown is to inject vitality into it for better development, and "Development" is the best respect for this area. We seek a new life in the future. 

NANYUE Mountain has accompanied Guiyang for a hundred years, its witnessed the growth of the city and the changes of the times.  As recorders of time, we relive that beautiful  journey to describe the memory of the city, and the dialogue between the old and the new. Continue to write about Guiyang history, that crosses the time limit.

在近几十年的改革开放进程中，虽然新城不断的拓展，但旧城也依然还保持一份活力，由于配套设施的完善程度高，还有许多人们愿意居住在老城区。而本案最终想要达到的目的，便也是在这充满的记忆的土地上重现它在新时代的辉煌。

In the process of economic reform in recent decades, although the new city has continued to expand, the old city still remain its vitality. Due to the better facilities and better infrastructure based, many people are still willing to live in the old downtown. So our vision of this project is reappearing the glory of the old downtown in the future.

一切的开始 Beginning

本项目坐落于贵阳南岳山下，独享南岳山景观，与南明河相望。周边则已经有了较为成熟的传统商业资源及较完善的教育配套。在这山与城的连接地带上，是一片新城老城交汇区域，有极大的潜力成为城市复兴典范之作。

而我们认为欣赏城市建筑，就像抚摸岁月镌刻的印记，保留优越特质，构建城市革新，探寻未知前路。应该在这纷繁凌乱的旧土地上，用最简洁干净的线条去整理一切，得出属于场所自己的最佳解。

The project is located in Guiyang, enjoying the view of Nanyue Mountain and River. The surrounding areas already have relatively sophisticated natural resources and urban facilities. This place is the junction where new city meets the old.

And we believed that  in this messy old land, we should use the lines to re-manage everything which will lead us to the best design solution that belongs to the place itself.

Master of modern minimalism ------- Peter Walker

作为国际知名的景观设计师，极简主义的代表人物，彼得沃克用最极致的线条，艺术性的创造了许多含义丰富的内容，我们从他的作品中得到启发，以“圆”和“直线”这两种最基础的艺术构成元素去梳理场所的空间结构。

As a famous landscape designer and the representative of minimalism, Peter Walker has created a lot of rich contents with his lines. We are inspired by his master pieces, with "circle" and "straight line". These two most foundamental elements is the best tool to identify the spatial structure of the place.

寻迹尊雅 Follow the exalted traces

如何在老城中心如此局限的场地中，去重新焕发出新的品质生活与尊雅体验，是在设计之初业主与设计团队都在关注的内容，最终决定从历史记忆出发，结合细节之处的精致打造，在简约之中表现不平凡，最终向客户呈现一处尊贵而雅致的界面

Client and the design team care so much about how to bringing quality living and elegant experience in such a confined site in the old city center at the very beginning.  And finally we all agreed to start from the histories and details which make things become extraodinary in simplicity. 

城迹剪影墙

这是一道由贵阳双子塔，甲秀楼，中天201大厦等贵阳当地最具特色与知名度的建筑地标作为主景，配合上百个样式不同当地建筑所组成的城市长卷。由于城市前中后景色的相互穿插，如何对上万个孔径进行参数化设计以呈现最好的效果，是一个大的挑战，团队对此也优化了近10轮方案，同时还经过了多次现场打样对比。而在现场安装时，也遇到很多不稳定性因素，因为穿孔剪影墙本身异于常规尺寸，为了保证效果及稳定性，最终采用的4.5m通高的不锈钢板。为了效果的最优，拼缝采用室内精装工艺，可以达到2mm以内。最终在设计团队与施工单位的多方协调合作下，以较为完美的姿态呈现，作本示范区最大的亮点之一，也体现了我们对城市印象的寄托。

This is a  scroll composed of those most distinctive and well-known architecture landmarks in Guiyang. Due to the varies front, middle and back views, how to parametrically design tens of thousands of apertures to present the best results is a super big challenge. Our team has optimized nearly 10 rounds for this. During installation, there are also many instability factors, like the perforated silhouette wall  is not a conventional size. In order to ensure the quality and stability, the 4.5m high stainless steel plate is finally beening chosen. Finally, under the cooperation of the design team and the contrator, it becomes one of the highlights of this display area project.

作为项目最重要的开敞展示界面之一，是项目精髓所在，我们在方案到施工图过程对细节进行反复斟酌与推敲，保证最后实景效果的呈现。

As the most wide open object in the site, both client and us spent so much times on reviewing the design, details drawings and materials again and again, and test the size and scale on site many many times to ensure the final presentation and construction quality.

城市圆印广场

Circular Plaza

倒映城市的同心圆水景，意为倒映当下的城市印象。作为本示范区的特色之二，水景设置有感应式水门，涌泉与互动式灯光。日映城市印象，晚与城市共舞。细节的跌水部分，由整齐的跌水坝所组成，经过大量的反复推敲确定起间距与宽度。而整个同心圆水景并不是一个单调的圆盘，一道直线在四分之三处进行分割，形成一道水中的长廊。这条连接过去与未来的长廊就像是浓墨重彩的一笔留在水墨砚台之上

The central waterscape reflecting the city. As the second feature of this display area, the waterscape is equipped with sensiable springs and interactive lights. The entire waterscape is not just a disc which is divided into three quarters by a straight banding to form a long corridor cutting through the water. This long corridor is like a strong stroke left on the inkstone platform which link the past and the future.

圆印时光长廊

象征着通向未来的时光走道，层层的跌水之中像镶嵌着宝玉翡翠一般的铜色金属树池。走道记录下我们前进的道路，跌水与树池作为引导前方道路的景致，不在乎未知，不畏惧远方。通过未来的走道我们将找到属于自己的城市归属

The time corridor is leading the city to the future. And the layers of cascade was inlaid with circular tree pot like gems in bronze. The walkway is recording our way forward and lead us to where we belong. 

引客绿廊

 Green Corridor

用简洁高绿篱烘托落客入口的仪式感与私密感，正对的节点广场，用以“城市之光“为主题的雕塑作为迎宾对景，其作为基底的小广场采用定制环形铜板作为点缀，以赞美的生命的文字写入其间。

从绿廊转出之后，进入的是一条简洁明快的林阵大道，由南北共12颗优中选优的大银杏串联而成，随着逐渐深入，是两颗从外省苗木基地中挖空心思淘来的丛生香泡，地面设置一条精致的金属装饰板，刻着对艺术和生活思考的名人名句，然后左侧可以看到项目的LOGO特色绿墙，搭配四颗特别精选的绿篱柱

High hedges are used to set off the sense of ritual and privacy of the drop-off entrance. The small square embrace a sculpture with the theme of "City Lights" as the welcoming gesture with custom-made circular copper plates on the ground , also written with words of praise of life.

After turning out of the Green Corridor, you will enter a simple and lively forested avenue. There are clusters of fragrances, and a delicate metal decorative panel is set on the ground, engraved with famous lines about art and life, and then you can see the project’s LOGO characteristic green wall on the left, with four specially selected hedge posts.

Planting Design

我们在绿植设计的时候遵循品质与活力生态，希望以最鲜艳活动的空间，极简线条的质感呈现；设计最大难点是保证植物冬季开盘时期繁花绿植的效果，贵阳的冬季能达到零下几度，导致在设计花镜品种选择上有极大受限，想要呈现开盘期间繁花绿植的效果确实不易，不管是植物设计，还是植物的选苗，设计师与甲方一起探讨多轮方案，从各个模型角度体量推敲、技术把控及效果研究，多次进行苗木选型、定样、把控，最后选择以最优美的树形营造城市的景色。

During the planting design, we stick with the quality and ecology friendly, hope to present the most vivid and active space with a minimalist form; the most difficulty in the design is to ensure the flowers and greening during the winter in Guiyang which can reach below zero. Therefore, it is extremely limited speciese and options of designing green.

一些感想 Some thoughts

在国宾道项目的实践上，设计让“线条“和“圆”将城市室内外空间和你我他的活动连接起来，将景观变成一个兼美学及实用功能的场所，而最终的目的，是通过让人的一切行为，动作，情感与场景中的水，光，影融合在一起，激发人们的对旧城历史的回忆与营造城市未来生活场景。

In the practice of the President Mansion project, the space is reformed by circles and lines to reconnect the citizen and the space which transform the landscape into a esthestic place with multiple functions. Our design goal is to stimulate people's memories of the old city and generate new lifes senarios which is full of activitese, movements, emotions and scenes of people can dance with water, light, and shadows.
