No Experience Required: Who Can Apply for Category C Work Visa?
With the graduation season of 2021 approaching, without work experience, many foreign students find it's hard to apply for a work visa.
However, there are preferential policies for fresh graduates to apply for work visa(Category C), that work experience is not required. From Oct. 2020, work visa(Category C) can be applied within 2 years of graduation.
In this article, we will explain in detail who are qualified to apply for a Category C work visa. There are also some successful cases for your reference.

Who can apply?
Foreign graduates referred to in this article are categorized into international students in China and foreign graduates from any of overseas universities.
Type 1:
Graduates from universities in Shanghai (Bachelor)
International students from any of the universities in Shanghai with a bachelor or above degree;
Sponsored by a company in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone, Lingang Special Area, or Hongqiao Central Business District, or to be employed by any organization included in Shanghai sci-tech innovation occupation list.

Type 2:
Graduates from universities in China (Master degree and above)
Hold a master degree from any of the universities in China
Sponsored by a company in Shanghai;
With the certification of outstanding graduate or GPA score above 80.
Example 2:
Mr.B holds a master's degree from Peking University, his GPA is 85, and get a job in Shanghai. He can apply for a work visa(Category C) in Shanghai.
If Mr. B only has a bachelor's degree from Peking University, he's not qualified for application in Shanghai. We suggest applying in Beijing using local policies.
Type 3:Graduates from foreign universities (Bachelor)
Foreign graduates from any of world-known foreign universities (TOP500) with a bachelor or above degree;
Sponsored by company in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone, Lingang Special Area, or Hongqiao Central Business District, or to be employed by any organization included in Shanghai sci-tech innovation occupation list;
With the certification of outstanding graduate or GPA score above 80.

NOTE:
Compared to graduates from universities in China, the requirements for graduates from foreign universities are stricter, with higher requirements for school rankings and grades.
NOTE:
Nowadays, applicants need to be in China for the applications.
