《美丽中国》是第一部表现中国野生动植物和自然人文景观的大型电视纪录片，是中国中央电视台（CCTV）和英国广播公司（BBC）第一次联合摄制的作品。
影片从长江以南的稻米之乡开始，到酷热的西双版纳雨林，极寒的珠穆朗玛峰，中国的标志长城，中华文化发源地黄河流域以及蜿蜒曲折的1.8万公里海岸线等。
《美丽中国》曾荣获第30届“艾美奖新闻与纪录片大奖”最佳自然历史纪录片摄影奖、最佳剪辑奖和最佳音乐与音效奖。

It acts as a good windbreak, prevents sand erosion, and is salt resistant.它有着极强的防风固沙和耐盐能力。

When the wind is blocked, the sand is fixed, and the soil is improved.当风被挡住飞沙被固定土壤被改良。

To the south of the Populus Euphratica forest in Ejina, lies Badain Jaran, the third largest desert in China.在额济纳胡杨林的南边是中国第三大沙漠巴丹吉林。
Without this 260 square kilometer Populus Euphratica forest, the Badain Jaran Desert, already 49,200 square kilometers in size, would spread northward, squeezing the living space of humans.如果没有这片260平方千米的胡杨林总面积49200平方千米的巴丹吉林沙漠就会向北扩散挤压人类的生存空间。
