If I were asked to name the single most destructive expression of fantasy, however, I would have to blame the media.

若有人让我指出最具破坏性的对于幻想的表达，我必将归咎于媒体。

本句是一个虚拟语气的基本句型。If l were done...，Iwould...意思是“如果我被……，我将……，”前半句做出假设，后半句就前假设做出应对，句式中的人称等可以替换。

如：

If students were reminded of this reality, there would be fewer upset faces when examination results are published.

如果让学生了解现实，当考试成绩公布时将会少一些沮丧的脸。

本句中name用作动词，意为“指出”，比point out更为正式一些。however表示转折关系，在句子中的位置相对比较灵活，可以放在句首、句中或句尾。

如：

1)However, they did not seem to have much effect.

不过，他们似乎没有起太大的作用。

2)He said that it was so; he was mistaken, however.

他说事情就是这样；然而，他错了。
