Shanghai University (SHU), co-funded by the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal Government, is a comprehensive university under the direct administration of Shanghai Municipality. SHU is part of China’s Project 211, the Double First-Class University Plan for leading national universities, and the first pilot project of high-level local universities in Shanghai.

Shanghai University is a comprehensive university that covers a full spectrum of academic disciplines, including philosophy, economics, laws, literature, history, natural sciences, engineering, management, and fine arts. About College of International Education

国际教育学院是上海大学国际学生的归口管理部门，承担全校国际学生的招生、管理、服务等工作，负责长短期国际学生项目开发、运行及管理等。自 2017 年以来，我校国际学生总规模以每年接近 10%的速度递增，尤其是学历生比重逐年上升，增幅接近30%，在国内名列前茅。学院同时也具有从事教学和研究的职能，设有汉语言本科、汉语国际教育本、硕专业，同时面向全校国际学生开设汉语言及国情文化类课程。学院既具有一般学院的教学与科研功能，又兼具机关部门的行政管理职能，设有学院行政办公室、国际学生招生办公室、国际学生服务中心、国际学生项目中心和汉语言教研中心。教研中心有一支职业素质高、教学经验丰富的师资队伍，截止2022年9月，学院教职工77人，专职教师31人。

The College of International Education (CIE) is responsible for the general affairs related to international students at SHU, such as the enrollment, management and service, as well as the development, operation and management of long-term or short-term programs for international students. The size of international students at SHU has been growing at an annual rate of nearly 10 percent since 2017. In particular, the proportion of full-time students has increased by nearly 30 percent, which ranks among the best in China.

CIE is also committed to teaching and research, offering undergraduate, postgraduate programs in Chinese Language, as well as courses of Chinese language and culture for all international students. CIE also functions as an administrative branch. It has the Administration Office, the International Student Enrollment Office, the International Student Service Center, the International Student Program Center, and the Chinese Language Teaching and Research Center, staffed by administrators and a strong faculty. As of September 2022, the school is home to 77 employees including 31 faculty members.

International Strategy is one of the major strategies of SHU during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period. Designated for international education, CIE strives to promote the international cooperation between SHU and its partners. To better serve for national strategies, CIE is aimed to evolve itself into a globally reputed and nationally leading college featured by the integration of teaching, research and administration, offering top program of International Chinese Language Education. Given the huge demand for Chinese Language Education worldwide, CIE is on a path of fast growth.

岗位职责

Position Description

(1) 开发并教授本科生和研究生课程；

(2) 开展与本专业相关的学术研究，任职期间完成岗位聘期职责和要求；

(3) 承担学院分配的教学管理工作；

(4) 参与集体教研活动并完成学院布置的相关任务。

每个聘期的具体目标根据学校和学科发展需要进行制定。

在此基础上，需要特别说明的是：

（一）教授

岗位职责：

1．完成学院规定的教育教学任务，系统地担任本科课程主讲，开设较高质量的学术讲座(与副教授不同)，完成学院规定的教学工作量；

2．指导研究生，指导进修教师或青年教师；

3．指导本科生毕业论文和毕业设计；

4．组织和指导课程建设、学科建设，主持教学法研究；

5．主持或参加学术研究、教学改革等活动，并在国内外核心期刊发表学术论文，完成学院规定的科研工作量；

6．担任本科生导师工作，举办学术讲座；

7．参与教学管理和社会服务工作；

8．完成学院交与的其他工作。

（二）副教授

岗位职责：

1．完成学院规定的教育教学任务，系统地担任本科课程主讲，完成学院规定的教学工作量；

2．指导研究生，指导进修教师或青年教师；

3．指导本科生毕业论文和毕业设计；

4．组织和指导本科生或语言生实践教学；

5．参加学术研究、教学改革等活动，并在国内外学术期刊发表学术论文，完成学院规定的科研工作量；

6．担任本科生导师工作，举办学术讲座；

7．参与教学管理和社会服务工作；

8．完成学院交与的其他工作。

We are particularly interested in candidates who are able to:

• develop and teach courses at postgraduate and undergraduate levels;

• conduct academic research relative to the programs offered by the college and complete the requirements of the post during the period of employment;

• undertake teaching management work;

• participate in collective research and teaching activities and complete related tasks assigned by the college.

 Requirements for Professor

• Fulfill educational and teaching workload, teach undergraduate courses, offer high-quality academic lectures；

• Supervise postgraduate, training teachers or young teachers；

• Supervise projects and graduation papers of undergraduate students；

• Organize and guide course construction, disciplines building, and head teaching research；

• Head or join academic research, teaching reform and publish academic papers on core journals domestically and internationally, complete the research workload；

• Be the supervisor of undergraduate students, hold academic lectures；

• Participate in teaching management and social services；

• Finish other work assigned by the college.

Requirements for Associate Professor

• Fulfill educational and teaching workload, teach undergraduate courses assigned by the college；

• Supervise postgraduate, training teachers or young teachers；

• Supervise projects and graduation papers of undergraduate students；

• Supervise the teaching practice of undergraduates and Chinese language students；

• Participate in academic research, teaching reform, and publish academic papers on core journals domestically and internationally, complete the research workload；

• Be the supervisor of undergraduate students, hold academic lectures；

• Participate in teaching management and social services；

• Finish other work assigned by the college.

应聘条件Qualifications

(1) 获得相关学科的博士学位并具有一年以上的教学经验；

(2) 具有可助力学院学科能力或影响力提升的研究背景；

(3)  热爱教学和学术研究工作，在教学成果、科研成果转化或标志性成果等方面有突出成绩者优先；

(4) 副教授年龄不超过40周岁，教授年龄不超过45周岁（对于特别优秀的应聘者可适当放宽年龄要求）。

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

• A PhD degree in the relevant discipline or a related field (e.g. applied linguistics, cognitive science) and have one or more years of relevant teaching experience;

• A strong research background in areas that will contribute or add to the existing strengths of the College of International Education;

• A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong record of research accomplishments and a strong interest in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

• Age limit for professor is 45 years old, and associate professor 40 years old.
