How can you spend an enriching weekend while being trapped at home because of the coronavirus? Why not visit the museums of Peking University with just a simple click of your mouse?

Faced with the temporary closure of its museums, Peking University has worked to make their resources available online. Currently, the following three museums at Peking University are open to the public:

＊Geological Museum

＊Museum of Biology

＊Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology

GEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

The website of the Geological Museum of Peking University has recently been revised, making most of its exhibits available online. The museum has a history of more than 110 years, and a collection of approximately 100,000 specimens. At present, its website offers visitors a 3D tour of the first floor of the museum, along introductions to its special exhibitions, as well as images and background information for some of the items on display.

MUSEUM OF BIOLOGY

The website of the Museum of Biology of Peking University (http://biomus.pku.edu.cn/) allows users to take a 3D tour of its 33 exhibition halls with audio guides to narrate each section and go into detail on some of the specimens on display. The website also offers entries on each of its exhibits and features a database of the museum's entire herbarium, covering all the botanic specimens collected by the museum since 1905.

The Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University has also worked to provide their stuck-at-home visitors with a rewarding new viewing experience. The museum's website now features pictures of some of the items from its permanent exhibitions and reviews of previous exhibitions for public viewing.

On the official WeChat account of the museum, visitors can also appreciate pictures and listen to audio guides from previous exhibitions as well as the museum's two latest exhibitions, the "Minstrel of the 19th Century: the Delacroix print exhibition" and the "Fusion of Colors: Special exhibition on the civilization of the Silk Road".
