为进一步推动全社会包容性发展和可持续性发展,第三届中国社会创业研究论坛拟联合Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene(SCI一区,影响因子6.053)共同征集英文特刊“Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Transitions in China”论文。所有通过第一轮评审的投稿都将被邀请在论坛举行期间(2021.11.20-2021.11.21)进行分享。

The College of Business, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics is going to host the 3rd International Social Entrepreneurship Forum on November 20-21 in Shanghai, China. Together with Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene, the Forum invites submissions of manuscripts on the theme: Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Transitions in China

The International Social Entrepreneurship Forum is an annual forum organized by the China Research Center for Social Entrepreneurship Research(CCSE). It aims to promote the inclusive and sustainable development of the economy, society, resources, and environment. Enhance the level of domestic research on social entrepreneurship, and construct an innovative communication platform for worldwide academia and industry. The forum is held annually in Shanghai, and the first two conferences have successfully attracted hundreds of renowned scholars all over the world, generating a wide social impact.

Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene is an open access scientific journal and publishes original, peer-reviewed research. It is uniquely structured into distinct knowledge domains, and gives authors the opportunity to publish in one or multiple domains, helping them to present their research and commentary to interested readers from disciplines related to their own. The Sustainability Transitions knowledge domain embraces trans-disciplinary research and welcomes contributions that advance knowledge on shifting society-environment interactions to sustainability and accelerate discovery and adoption of scientific solutions to the challenges presented by this era of human impact. Elementa’s Sustainability Transitions plans to publish a special feature under the theme: Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Transition in China. The special feature is led by Dr. Yuwei Shi, Associate Editor of Elementa’s Sustainability Transitions and Visiting Professor at University of California Santa Cruz, and three Guest Editors, Dr. Zhiyang Liu, Professor of College of Business at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics; Dr. Xufeng Zhu, Professor at School of Public Policy & Management at Tsinghua University; and Dr. Qing Miao, Professor at School of Public Affairs at Zhejiang University.

We welcome contributions from scholars in the social and natural sciences and humanities, and practitioners, innovators, and leaders who are forging ahead with strategies to shift towards sustainability. We encourage contributions that develop innovative approaches in concepts, theory, methods or analysis and have deep or broad implications to inform transitions to sustainability, and that use observational, experimental or theory-driven modes of inquiry. Contributions may focus primarily on concepts, models and hypotheses, on empirical approaches, or both. To meet the boundary-bridging goal of the Sustainability Transitions domain, submissions should clearly, specifically and logically present the larger context of the work, both in framing the question or opportunity addressed, and in discussing implications of findings. Articles must be written in clear and direct language, with a minimum of technical, specialist terminology and without sacrificing rigor.

Background

Carbon neutrality, shared prosperity, educational equity and other sustainability aspirations are common in China and the international community, as manifested in the 17 sustainable development goals adopted by all UN members in 2015. These time-sensitive goals are also an urgent call for action, for which China must play an active role as a rising and responsible power in the world. President Xi Jinping points that China must put the promotion of common prosperity for all people in a more important position in the journey of building a modern country. Innovative business and investment models such as social entrepreneurship and ESG and impact investments have been increasingly shared, studied and adopted by governments, enterprises and social sectors to promote sustainability transition over the past 20-30 years, albeit with limited success. Our Call for Papers intends to highlight the urgency of sustainability transitions and the role of social entrepreneurship in accelerating the transitions, because many global problems such as climate change, loss of biodiversity and widening income disparities are getting worse. We are afraid that many of the current enterprise and investment sustainability initiatives or strategies may be insufficient or come to effect too late. Our intention, therefore, is to encourage scholarship that will lead to accelerating the sustainability transitions, more specifically, on how enterprises, investments, and the social-technical systems of business and market can be reconfigured to accelerate the transitions to a sustainable world.

Contributions may focus on, but are certainly not limited to, the following areas:

a. Corporate social responsibility and sustainability transformation

b. Digital economy and social entrepreneurship

c. Venture philanthropy, impact investment, and social entrepreneurship

d. Social entrepreneurship and carbon Neutrality

e. Corporate innovation and corporate social entrepreneurship

f. Technology innovation-driven entrepreneurial behavior and entrepreneurship management

g. Mission drift and social enterprise governance model

In addressing these topics, the Guest Editors are open to research from a variety of theoretical perspectives, empirical approaches, and geographical locations.
