There are many large questions that people have thought about, studied and made theories about since the beginning of civilization.Such questions people on all continents have thought about and still explore include: where did our planet come from. Included in this problem is where do water come from that led to formation of the oceans and create an environment when life can evolve.When and how did life start on our planet and how has it evolved and what is its future. This problem has always been limited bacause we did not know when oxygen was made and how did it vary over time.

Are we alone in the universe or are their other planets that are like our own or, are we the only one with the conditions that allowed life to start and evolve. If we want to know the future we have to know the past. To know that we want to know what the recent climate has been, how and why has it changed? There are many approaches to studying these problems and answering such questions. This talk discusses some of the ways in which these questions are scientifically addressed and what might we do next.
