The webinar will start with a short introduction to corpus linguistics (lecture) and a brief hands-on session demonstrating newest software tools in the field. We will also discuss the structure of the programme, entry requirements and the student experience.

Dr. Vaclav Brezina

Works as a senior lecturer at Lancaster University, compiles and analyses corpora, develops corpus tools and specialises in statistics.

Prof. Elena Semino

Is the Director of the ESRC Centre for Corpus Approaches to Social Science, Lancaster University.

Prof. Tony McEnery

Has been working for over 20 years to help pioneer new ways to use computers to analyse very large collections of language data.
