理工学院创新作坊夏令营来了！我们的日常生活离不了网络，冲浪、购物、社交等等各种应用都需要网络的支持，互联网把世界各地紧紧联系在一起。相信很多同学对网络是如何工作的非常感兴趣。2022年这个暑假，SSE创新作坊给你加菜，本次夏令营不光有网络知识的理论课，还有非常有趣的实验实践，实验课更有业界工程师提供指导哦，快来一起学习和玩吧。

夏令营介绍
通信网络，特别是互联网，在信息技术的发展中发挥了根本性作用，极大地改变了我们的社会生活。现有互联网的核心功能是由TCP/IP协议栈定义的，丰富多样的互联网应用都在机遇期建立的。在这个夏令营中，我们将介绍网络通信中关于路由、拥塞控制等的基础知识。我们还将讨论下一代网络通信的核心技术——网络编码。除了理论，我们还提供一系列动手实验来实践网路知识。夏令营面向刚完成第一学年学业即将升大二的学生，无需具备先验工程类的知识。我们希望夏令营能够为学生参与进一步的研究和学习做准备。
夏令营内容
夏令营包括理论讲座和动手实验两部分：
理论专题：
• 关于可靠通信的香农信息论
• TCP/IP 和互联网
• 拥塞和路由
• 无线通信：蜂窝网和 WiFi
• 网络编码
动手实验：
• 树莓派和 linux 操作系统
• UDP/TCP 套接字编程
• 多跳、多路径网络
• 网络拥塞控制实验
• 网络编码的概念验证

SSE Maker Lab Summer Camp is here! Our daily life is inseparable from network communications. Various applications, such as surfing, shopping, social communication, etc. need the support of the Internet. The Internet closely links all parts of the world. Many students are very interested in the networking technologies. In the summer of 2022, SSE Maker Lab will give you more dishes. This summer camp not only includes theoretical lectures on network knowledge, but also has very interesting experimental practices where you can be guided by industrial engineers. Come and play together.

Introduction
Communication networks, especially the Internet, have played a fundamental role in the development of information technologies, and changed our social life significantly. The core functions of the existing Internet are specified by TCP/IP, a protocol stack that enables the prosperity of the Internet. In this summer camp, we introduce the basic knowledge of network communications about routing, congestion control, etc. We will also talk about network coding, the core technology for the next generation of network communications.
In addition to theory, we provide a sequence of hands-on experiments to practice the knowledge. The summer camp targets for students who just finished their first year and does not require prior engineering knowledge. We hope the summer camp can prepare students for participating further researches and studies.
Summer Camp Content
The summer camp includes two parts: theory lectures and hands-on experiments:
Theory topics:
Shannon’s theory about reliable communications
TCP/IP and Internet
Congestion and routing
Wireless communications: cellular and WiFi
Network coding
Hands-on experiments:
Raspberry Pi and linux OS
UDP/TCP Socket programming
Multihop, multipath networking
Experiment of network congestion control
Proof-of-concept of network coding
Schedule
Tentative schedule: Onsite participation in 4 Lectures + 4 Workshops, Mid June - Mid July.
