Luke Plonsky

讲座人信息：

Luke Plonsky（密歇根州立大学博士）是北亚利桑那大学应用语言学副教授，教授二语习得和研究方法课程。他已经出版了 90 多部文章、书籍章节和书籍。Luke是 Studies in Second Language Acquisition的高级副主编、 Foreign Language Annals执行编辑、De Gruyter Mouton 语言习得系列的联合主编，以及 IRIS 数据库 (iris-database.org) 的联合主任。除了之前在乔治城大学和伦敦大学学院任职外，卢克还在中国、日本、荷兰、波兰、西班牙和波多黎各讲学。

讲座介绍：

Second language acquisition (SLA) is a dynamic and vibrant discipline at the crossroads of several different fields such as linguistics, education, and psychology, among others. In this lecture series, I will present a variety of topics of current interest (and controversy) in SLA. The first discussion will address the role of “learner-internal” or psychological factors in second language (L2) development. This session will also explore whether and how such variables can be influenced by language teachers. The second discussion considers the disconnect between SLA research and language classrooms. More specifically, we will try to uncover some of causes underlying this problem as well as possible solutions. The third discussion takes a bird’s-eye view on the field by considering what we can learn about L2 learning and teaching from the large and growing body of meta-analyses that have been carried out in the field to date.
